Bellingham Real Estate
Scenic mountains, the picturesque Bellingham and Samish Bays and plenty of places to eat, drink and otherwise experience the unique small city that is Bellingham, Washington. North of the Skagit Valley and the seat of Whatcom County, Bellingham is home to about 90,000 people and shares its northern border with Canada.
There are many smaller communities around Bellingham and the city itself is made up of a few different neighborhoods. For all but the smallest rural towns, public transportation is available to get just about anywhere you need to go in an hour or less. Uber and Lyft are rising in popularity, as well.
Home to Western Washington University, downtown Bellingham is what one would expect to attract college kids and the community at large. Bountiful coffee shops, bars, boutiques, diners and even a few convenience stores are scattered downtown, which makes a weekend stroll (don’t forget to check out the Farmer’s Market!) quite an enjoyable adventure.
Fairhaven – in south Bellingham – is one of the most beautiful and historic neighborhoods in Bellingham. Upscale eateries and fancy cocktail bars are easy to find, and you’ll probably discover something you can’t live without in one of the many small specialty shops, too!
There’s always something happening in Bellingham. Whether you’re catching a show at the Pickford Film Center or the beautiful Mount Baker Theater, taking advantage of one of the many open mic nights or concerts or chilling at a comedy show, your evenings can easily get booked solid.
Bellingham is also pretty volunteer-minded, so this is a great place to find ways to help others. Community gardens are sprinkled throughout the county, and food banks accept surplus produce from farmers and citizens alike!
